About Cap & Wing Messaging

Cap & Wing Messaging offers marketing consulting and creates written communications for clients in New Orleans, throughout Louisiana, and around the country. Our clients include small and medium-sized businesses, institutions, and non-profits.

The name Cap & Wing Messaging derives from the winged cap worn by the messenger god in classical mythology. To us, Cap & Wing represents thinking and action; strategy and tactics; and what to say and how to say it.

About Henry Alpert

Henry Alpert

The lead behind Cap & Wing Messaging is Henry Alpert. His aim is to help his clients improve their sales and reach their other goals through strategic messaging and writing. Instead of focusing on any one particular niche, he chooses to serve clients across a range of industries in order to help them differentiate themselves from competitors and stand out in their marketing.

After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in philosophy, Henry worked in a number of journalism jobs including at a banking trade magazine in New York. He taught business writing at Tulane University and composition classes at the University of New Orleans, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts in writing. His international experience includes a newspaper position in Thailand, a teaching position in Japan, and plenty of Lonely Planet backpacking with extended forays into South America.

Henry started to work as a full-time, self-employed business writer and freelance marketing copywriter in January 2004, and the name Action Copy followed a few years later. Over the years, he continued to help clients with their copy but began more and more to assist with their overall marketing picture. He changed the business name to Cap & Wing Messaging to reflect this development.

Henry is active in the New Orleans entrepreneurial community; he mentors budding entrepreneurs at local business accelerators such as The Idea Village and Propeller and has given workshops at both. He is also on the board of the New Orleans chapter of the American Marketing Association as the Vice President of Communications.
